Lena is a Ph.D. candidate in History at the University of Minnesota. Her research project is titled, “Shojo Modernity: Queer Girlhood and Tuberculosis in Early Twentieth Century Japan.” She will be affiliated at Kobe College. She expects to arrive in Japan in August this year.
