About KCC-JEE

Welcome to the Kobe College Corporation

Japan Education Exchange

We are the oldest U.S.-Japan collaborative organization in America.

We were founded in Chicago in 1920, to raise money to support Kobe College in Japan. Over the years, we've expanded our mission to provide opportunities for both Kobe College students and American students, researchers and educators to travel and experience Japan and America.

Erin Mickens Choi

“It was such an honor to be able to return to KCHS, where I had studied for ten months during high school as an exchange student through KCC.  This time, I got to experience things through new eyes as a teacher- even co-teaching alongside my own former classroom teacher. These first two years of teaching turned into another twelve years teaching English at primary schools in Hong Kong. I am so grateful for this incredible experience! ”

Erin Mickens Choi, 2005-2007 Gottschalk Teacher of English

For over a century, Kobe College Corporation Japan Education Exchange has been a partner with Kobe College in support of US/Japan educational programs. We are a truly bicultural organization. Therefore, it has been deeply disheartening and horrifying to witness the recent rise in hate crimes and overt discrimination against Asians in the US and elsewhere. We stand together with Asian-Americans who have suffered under this current wave of anti-Asian hate crimes, which is disgraceful and unacceptable.
